As your Local Marlboro Township REALTOR® I love helping people navigate through the home buying process. One thing that must get done when you are about to close on your new home is setting up your utilities. I know it’s a boring subject but you don’t want to move into your new home and not be able to turn the lights on or cook that first yummy dinner do you?

I’m going to give you a lot of information on setting up your utilities in Marlboro Township. At the end of this video I will give you a link to a printable summary of all the utility providers and other important contacts in our community. So, stick around…

Even though Marlboro Township is over 30 square miles, we are all covered by the same utility companies! Whew, so much easier this way. Well, except for the water company. So let’s get started.

Electricity

No matter where in Marlboro Township you live, you will need to give JCP & L , a call to set up your electricity. JCP & L stands for Jersey Central Power and Light

Cable & Internet

Okay, don’t shoot the messenger. Currently the providers for our area may not be all that fabulous. You have a couple of choices here. You can go with Cablevision or you MAY be able to go with Vios. Vios is offered in some sections of Marlboro Township but not all! You should call around get pricing from talk to friends and neighbors to see who they use, and to see if they are happy with their service. Options for Cable and Internet change frequently so you can keep seeing if any new providers come to our area.

Gas

Gas is provided for all of Marlboro Township buy New Jersey Natural Gas.

Garbage

If you want your garbage picked up after you move in, you’re going to want to set up service. The issue here? There are over 30 companies that service the Marlboro area. Sounds a bit crazy right? I’ll leave a link to all of them for you, but you just may want to speak to your new neighbors or friends and see what company they use and if they are happy!

Recycling

Marlboro has contracted with Central Jersey Waste and Recycling to pick up the Township Recycling. Items must be placed in a reusable container that is not larger than 32 gallons; plastic bags or larger containers will not be collected. Marlboro does put out a calendar for township recycling and For that Information Click here.

Water

Water is shared in Marlboro Township between Gordon’s Corner Water Company and Marlboro Townships Municipal Utilities Authority. If you are unsure of which provider covers you address you can check the map here, or reach out to me and i’ll get you the information!

Sewer

All of Marlboro Township including Morganville of course uses, Western Monmouth Utilities Company.
