Freehold Township is the community in which you live. It contains over 36,142 people in its 38.8 square miles. It is separate and distinct, with its own municipal government in the form of a Township Committee, and it levies and collects its own taxes and acts as the collector for local schools, the Regional High School system, Monmouth County and the local fire districts. Freehold Borough was originally part of the Township, but in 1919 it was established as a municipality in its own right. At approximately 1.7 square miles and surrounded by the Township, it is governed by a Mayor and a Council and has its own elementary school system.
There is SO much do within the Area. The Mall for example is a wonderful place to spend the day shopping or eating. It is the 2nd largest mall in New Jersey.
The Township borders Colts Neck, Howell, Manalapan, Marlboro & Millstone (Monmouth County) and Jackson (Ocean County).
