During the summer months, our year round population doubles to ten thousand people or more. Walk or drive the lovely tree-lined streets heading directly to the beach, where you will find our beautiful boardwalk and oceanfront. Feel free to take advantage of the oceanfront playgrounds, bocce ball and mini golf for all ages, and refreshment kiosks. Enjoy swimming with lifeguards, fishing and surfing areas, and full facilities. The Bradley Beach School District is a community public school district that serves students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade from Bradley Beach.
The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group “CD”, the sixth-highest of eight groupings.
In New Jersey districts have the option of allowing students to transfer to schools in a neighboring district (called interdistrict choice). The state has also initiated a five-year pilot program to voluntarily establish 21 choice districts, with one per county. Students within a 20-mile radius of a choice district can apply to attend its schools. Children can also attend charter schools. Low-income students are eligible for scholarship funding to attend private schools. Under the federal No Child Left Behind law, students attending a Title I school designated as “in need of improvement” have the right to attend a higher performing school in the district.
The Bradley Beach Elementary School District is a one-school district where a culturally diverse, progressive staff works tirelessly to provide a rigorous academic experience to our student population. The Bradley Beach School District provides for the needs of students in pre-kindergarten through the eighth grade. In addition to the academic programs including English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies, the district provides opportunities for students to learn skills in the areas of computer technology, performing arts and music, visual arts, media skills and physical/health education, as well as numerous extra-curricular activities. The District also provides for students with special needs through a special education program consisting of resource rooms and inclusion programs that provide in-class support.
The Bradley Beach School District encourages parents to be involved in their children’s education. A very active and dedicated Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) continues to grow in size. The PTO provides wonderful support through funding and organizing numerous student events, as well as providing teacher mini-grants for undertaking innovative units of study. The PTO has also dedicated time, energy, and resources to help support the growth of technology throughout the district. The Bradley Beach parents, teachers and administrators are committed to maintaining open lines of communication to support an effective education for all students.
